Terms & Conditions

A LEGAL DISCLAIMER

Brand Foundations Community Programme
.

1. Who we are. The Foundryē is a community interest company registered in England and Wales, company number [number], based in Hackney, East London. In these terms, we and us mean The Foundryē, and you means the person applying for or holding a place on the programme.

2. Who can take part. You need to be eighteen or over. You do not need a business, a registered company, prior experience or any design or marketing background. The programme is funded to reach people living in Hackney and the East London boroughs around it, so priority goes to local applicants, but living elsewhere does not rule you out.

3. Applying is not the same as holding a place. Submitting the form is an application. Places are limited and we read every application before deciding. Applications close on Friday 2 October 2026 and everyone hears back by 8 October, whether or not they have a place. If you are offered one, you have forty eight hours to confirm it, after which it may go to someone on the reserve list.

4. There is no cost. The programme is funded by The National Lottery Community Fund. There is nothing to pay at any point, nothing to buy at the end, and no obligation of any kind afterwards. Your own travel to and from the venue is not covered, and if that is a barrier please tell us rather than withdrawing, because we would rather know.

5. Coming to the sessions. The programme is seven sessions and each one builds on the one before, so it works properly only if you come to all of them. We know life happens. If you cannot make a session, tell us beforehand and we will send you the materials and catch you up. If you miss three or more without letting us know, we may offer your place to someone else, and we will always write to you first before doing that.

6. If you need to give up your place. Tell us as early as you can, by email, and nothing more is needed. There is no penalty and you are welcome to apply again for a later cohort. Early notice matters because it lets someone on the reserve list take the place while there is still time for them to join.

7. If we have to change something. We will give as much notice as we can if a date, time or venue has to change, and we will not change the programme in a way that materially reduces what you get. If we have to cancel the cohort altogether, we will offer you a place on the next one. Since the programme is free, no payment or refund arises either way.

8. What is included. Seven two hour sessions in person, a printed workbook that is yours to keep, tea and coffee, and one to one mentoring sessions with Michaela after the programme ends. Mentoring sessions are booked with you directly and should be used within three months of the final session unless we agree otherwise.

9. The room. What people share about their ideas, their circumstances and their work stays in the room. Please do not repeat it outside, record any session, or photograph other participants without asking them first. We ask everyone to be courteous to each other and to the venue. In the rare case of behaviour that makes the room unsafe or unwelcoming for others, we may ask someone to leave the programme.

10. Your work belongs to you. Everything you create during the programme, your ideas, your writing, your brand foundation, is entirely yours. We claim no rights over it and no share in anything you go on to build.

11. Our materials. The workbook, worksheets, slides and teaching materials remain the copyright of The Foundryē. They are for your own use and you are welcome to keep and use them for as long as they are useful. Please do not resell them, publish them, or teach them as your own.

12. What this is and is not. This is brand education. It is not legal, financial, tax, insurance or regulated business advice, and it is not a guarantee of any commercial outcome. Decisions about your business, and responsibility for them, remain yours. Where something needs a professional, we will say so.

13. Photographs and quotes. We sometimes photograph sessions or quote what participants say to show funders and future participants what the programme is. We ask separately for permission, on the joining form and again in the room, and saying no changes nothing at all about how you are treated or what you receive. You can change your mind at any point.

14. Your information. We hold what you give us on the application and joining forms to run the programme and to report to our funder on who it reached. Only Michaela reads your answers. We do not sell your information, pass it to anyone else, or add you to anything you did not ask for. The optional monitoring questions make no difference to your application and are reported to the funder without your name attached. Email us at any time and we will remove your information.

15. Access, support, and if something goes wrong. If there is anything that would make it hard for you to take part, tell us and we will do what we can within what a small organisation reasonably has. If you are unhappy with anything, email Michaela directly at [email] and you will get a proper reply within five working days.
